Katy Appleton, Founder & Director of appleyoga brings to yoga more than 25 years of expertise in movement through ballet, Pilates, body tuning, breath and energy work. She is an internationally recognised teacher of Vinyasa Flow and is known for bringing the true essence of yoga alive in a student's body mind in creative, dynamic and life transforming ways.

Alva Malka, sound bath

Alva graduated in Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture, Herbology and Tuina) in an incorporated study program between Reidman International College for Complementary and Integrative Medicine and Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in China.

During these 4 years of studies she was exposed to many different methods of healing and therapies and took additional classes outside the TCM frame, she then graduated in Shiatsu therapy and practises daily Qi Gong and meditation.

Alva has a long established acupuncture clinic in Kingston and Hampton Wick

Whilst abroad she fell in love with Yoga and went on to do many different yoga trainings over the years and now teaches an eclectic mix of many well regarded styles.

Like Katy, Alva studied with Nikki Slade’s Learn to Lead Kirtan Training completing her 200hr Kirtan training three years ago and regularly offers sound bath meditations, chanting and yoga nidras at her home studio in Kingston.

Kicki Hansard is a certified birth and postnatal doula with experience in all aspects of pregnancy, childbirth and early parenting. Since 2002, she has been preparing couples for the arrival of their baby and supported many of them through the birth and postnatal period. Kicki is also a doula course facilitator and has trained over 500 aspiring doulas through her company, the BirthBliss Academy.

She came to yoga initially because she thought it would be a good form of exercise - a gentle way to stretch and tone her body post-pregnancy. Christopher Wallis, also known as Hareesh, was introduced to Indian spirituality at the age of seven and initiated into the practice of yogic meditation at sixteen. His degrees include a B.A. in Religion and Classics from the University of Rochester, an M.A. in Sanskrit from U.C. Berkeley, an M.Phil. in Classical Indian Religions from Oxford, and a Ph.D. on the traditions of Śaiva Tantra from Berkeley.

Emma came to yoga gradually, trying out different styles until discovering appleyoga on a retreat to Morocco.

This retreat was the catalyst from which Emma jumped into her appleyoga Teacher Training. The training created the foundations for becoming an appleyoga teacher, teacher training mentor, pre/post natal teacher.
